Age vs life experience, over rated or under stated?

Age, what is age? is it a number defining how many years one has lived or the number in which we are categorized as a member of society. You see age is my problem, although I am not that old, well I do not consider myself old, or not even near there. But the issue is how old one must be to gain that valuable life experience that someone keeps telling me about! I'll start with the life experience problem...

Well a couple of months ago an argument broke out with the unmentionables, considering that I want to keep these people well out of my face this is the way I intend to go about it. Over the fact that me and my partner do not have enough life experience to get engaged. When asked what they meant about life experience, they simply stated 'It's going on holiday together'. Life experience is simply 'going on holiday' what kind of experience do they expect? To me, life experience is watching someone die who was really close to you, watching 4 people pass away through cancer. Having to go through being abused by an ex and dealing with the abuse issue from being a child. Never having enough time to be a child is life experience, some say that living a sheltered life and gaining valuable experience through other aspects is that life experience. Having two miscarriges by the age of 20, though still quite young is that not enough life experience? Obviously its not what i thought it could be, just going on holiday, and moving in together is classed as life experience. Do people really have to enjoy this experience to be able to live? Life throws out so many problems like not having enough money, debt, children, no home, extra extra it just goes on, so life experience is something you only gain by doing it.

the other issue that keeps on cropping up, is the aspect of age. Age and life experience just seem to go together. You see age is my problem with my partner being younger than me. I feel like my times slowly giving me the tick tock, and i'm not that old, but you see with cervical cancer, diabetes and alsorts of ideal health issues that age doesn't really seem to matter anymore. But to the unmentionables it matters, to them that can not be spoken of, that is the issue. Age seems to matter if you put children into the line, I don't personally have any (yet) but I wouldn't mind starting a family soon! The unmentionables seem to think that they have the key to deciding whether or not me and my partner have children, what they are to be called, and how they are to dress and everything, including when we are (if ever to get engaged and then married) to do anything with our lives. Age prevents us from doing anything we wish. I mean you have to be 18 to buy alcohol, 16 to buy paracetamol's an knives. When you reach the golden age of 21 it doesn't matter your just legal to drink in America. But how can you prevent someone over the age of 18 from wanting to start a family? Understandable we are looking for a place to live, but old fashioned values surely do not matter in todays openly different society. So are we a number of our years on this earth, or are we a society of ageless ignorant people whose true meaning in life is to create issues such as these to confuse and hurt the people the supposedly love and care for!

Personally life experience is over rated, conceited and ignorant to peoples past and future. It can not be denoted by whomever tells us it is what it is, but by the values of your own life. It is what it is, it is like the value of intelligence which is formed not by the knowledge that one knows but the everyday activities that we do. Like looking out the window and seeing its going to rain, so picking up a coat and umbrella instead of a sun hat, this is intelligence, so even with the most intelligent people in the world life experience may not even be accountable for. As for age, well it is undetermined how to consider the number of years you have been alive. But is it really necessary for this day and age to label each other with the amount of pressure off the age issue. Surely if you are mature enough in mind, well mature enough as one can be, then life should just fall in an ageless way into the natural format in which life it should be.

Its an issue that keeps arising in my life, and there are many more please feel free to comment and things. I'll be back to moan at a later date. Thank you for reading.
